Estonia

Friends,  It is almost midnight in Estonia as I write this, and the sun just went down.  The Atwood family arrived at about 9 tonight.  We drove around old town and then checked them in and went to dinner at 10.  It is good to have the whole team together.

Today began with a breakfast meeting with Jack Loo to talk about Jack becoming the President of the American arm of Estonia Church Partners (ECP).  As the ministry continues to grow, Jack is prayerfully considering helping lead the ministry.  We then had our ECP Board meeting to discuss priorities in challenging financial times.  Praise God, the ministry is still going well.

Tonight at our early supper with Kuldar Kaljuste, we heard Kuldar’s vision to go full time in sports ministry.  (He will be leading a team leader meeting in a few weeks with Tammy Hadden and Ron Sill).  He will be coming to Whittier the beginning of October to see if he can raise some financial support toward the $4,000 he will need each month.  He spoke at an English camp last week, and 7 people became Christians.  God is certainly using him.

I used some of the money that was given Sunday for Estonian pastors to buy a washing machine for Helari Puu’s new house.  I wish you could have seen the joy on his face or heard his wife’s tears on the phone over the great joy of finally having a washing machine.  We are so blessed in America, and this country gives me a reality check each time.

Tomorrow we visit the offices of the Union of Evangelical Churches.  We will meet with Erki Tomm (The General Secretary–Director of Operations) to tour the orphanage, the offices, and Helari’s church.  Then we will have lunch with Erki and Pilli (Union youth director).  So far, things are going well.  My worst days here are when it gets hot.  today was in the 60’s with rain most of the day.  Wonderful!

Keep us in your prayers and thank you for your support.
